Having a “week off” from classes, you would normally think, yay, I’d get more work time, but alas, family commitments due to school holidays didn’t help in my case. While I attempted to move my studies around to suit the circumstances, I have found I’m falling a tad behind. Nevertheless, my mac will go on.
Progress to date: Detour narrative structure and function is working well. I’ve since added another page/scene at the very beginning, as I clean forgot to include the cover page. With every page added, there’s code to adjust for all scenes that follow.

Added Front Title Page (scene) to detour narrative structure. Corresponding scenes needed to be updated for coding purposes.
Structure done, I’ve now moved onto illustrating the pages. I need solid time in my more ergonomic workstation to complete this, as I need to use the wacom for more efficiency. I hope I’m doing the right thing where all my artwork is vector-based, although I feel that it would look better if it was more raster-based, as the original book I created was done in watercolour, but I lack the time. In any case I’ve set up layers for Actions (coding), buttons (interactive) background (static), props (animate upon touch if time permits to code) and characters. I have class in 2 days time and am debating if I need to attend or concentrate on getting all illustrations completed first before obtaining further code advice. Perhaps I will get one interactive element working in a tween, like a frog jump animation, to have ready to code for Scott to check and advise on, that would at least allow for me to use the code for the rest of the elements in my own time.
My lesson learned over the past few week: Have ALL scenes set and ready before you code them up, it’s time consuming when you have to add more.
